Artist's Description

While living in Oregon I lived in Lake Oswego. I painted this off of a photo I took at George Rogers City Park. This was one of my first paintings with flowers. I went on a lot of walks along the paths at this park with my wife and kids. History

Situated on the Willamette River, the park is the site of significant Native American activity over 10,000 years ago, as well as the center of Lake Oswego's industrial iron history. The park is 26 acres and contains athletic fields, tennis courts, children's playground, picnicing, riverfront access, walking trails, and a large natural area. Of particular interest to history buffs is the "Iron Furnace", which is listed on the National Historic register and one of the few reminders of Lake Oswego's industrial past. About Ian Donley

Ian Donley

I grew up in Ventura, California where I spent most of my time at the beach. I was a lifeguard for 13 years on the beaches of Ventura and Carpinteria. I've always been attracted to the water and the beauty of nature. I've been an amateur photographer for many years. A few years ago, I moved to the Portland, Oregon area with my wife and kids and it was there that I was inspired to begin painting. Currently we live in the Ventura area and I continue to paint.
